Welcome to Daegu for the 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships.

If you experience an emergency or need help during your stay, please refer to the information below. For police emergencies, call 112. For fire, ambulance, or medical emergencies, call 119.

1. Crime or Emergency — POLICE 112

If you are a victim of a crime, feel threatened, or need urgent police assistance, call 112.

If possible, tell the operator:

• Your current location or a nearby landmark

• What happened

• Whether anyone is injured

• A description of the suspect or direction of travel

Even if you do not speak Korean, call 112 first in an emergency.

After the call is connected, say “Interpreter, please.” and tell the operator which language you speak.

Language assistance is available if needed.

2. Fire or Medical Emergency — 119

Call 119 if there is a fire, serious injury, sudden illness, or if you need an ambulance.

• Tell the operator your location first.

• Explain what happened and the patient's condition.

• Follow the operator's instructions and wait in a safe place.

3. Lost Property

If you lose your phone, wallet, passport, bag, or other belongings:

• Ask for help at the nearest police station, or

• Visit the Police Civil Service 24 Website at  https://minwon24.police.go.kr/ for information about lost and found property.

If your passport is lost or stolen, you should also contact your embassy or consulate.

4. Traffic Accident

If you are involved in a traffic accident:

• Move to a safe location if possible.

• Call 119 if anyone is injured.

• Call 112 if police assistance is needed.

• Record the location, vehicle information, and other relevant details.

• Take photos of the scene when it is safe to do so.

Always watch for approaching traffic and avoid secondary accidents.

5. Crime Prevention

Please keep the following safety tips in mind during your stay in Daegu.

• Keep your wallet, mobile phone, passport, and other valuables secure, especially in crowded places such as stadiums, public transportation, and tourist areas.

• When using taxis or making purchases, check the fare or payment amount before paying and keep your receipt when necessary.

• If you experience unwanted physical contact, sexual harassment, illegal filming, or feel threatened, move to a safe place and call 112.

• Be cautious of anyone pretending to be the police, prosecutors, a financial institution, family member, or friend and asking for money or financial information.

• Do not click suspicious links or install unknown apps.

• Do not carry, deliver, or store bags, parcels, or other items for strangers if you do not know what is inside.

• Do not lend your bank account, mobile phone, or identification documents to anyone in exchange for money or other benefits.

If you suspect a crime or become a victim, call 112.
