The organizing committee of the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships (Secretary-General Jin Ki-hoon) and the Daegu International Development Cooperation Center held a launching ceremony for the 2nd College Student Promotion Team at the Regional University Cooperation Center on the 25th and began their activities in earnest.

The university student promotion team, which will be operated for the second time after the first half of the year, will boost the atmosphere of the competition by conducting various activities such as ▷ production of promotional contents for the competition ▷ offline civic communication ▷ promotion of participation of domestic and foreign players based on creative ideas and active activities unique to university students.

In particular, the 2nd promotion team plans to further strengthen the online promotion of SNS to promote the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships at home and abroad by producing and utilizing short and impactful videos and image contents.

The second promotional group, which will involve 20 university students from Daegu and Gyeongbuk, will continue its activities online and offline for about three months until the end of November, starting with this launching ceremony.

At the launching ceremony, the ceremony included the award of a letter of appointment, introduction of the competition, lectures on tourism resources and public relations strategies in Daegu, and guidance on promotional groups' activities, providing time for public relations members to enhance their understanding of the competition and the region.

Jin Ki-hoon, secretary-general of the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships, said, "The 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships will be a global sports festival where everyone runs and harmonizes beyond just a sports competition," adding, "We look forward to the second university student promotion team spreading the charm of the competition with young enthusiasm and fresh ideas."
